Playa eBikes® is an independent business and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, authorized by, or in any way connected to Burning Man Project or any of its subsidiaries, licensees, or affiliates. The term “Burning Man” is used solely to describe the geographic area and event for the purpose of clarifying service limitations.
Purpose
This policy outlines the relationship between Playa eBikes® and the Burning Man event, including explicit limitations on delivery, support, liability, and the use of eBikes under extreme desert conditions.
Scope
This policy applies to all customers who purchase or rent eBikes from Playa eBikes® and intend to transport or use them at Burning Man or within Black Rock City or surrounding playa areas.
Affiliation Disclaimer
- Playa eBikes® is not affiliated with Burning Man Project.
- We are not a registered vendor, contractor, or official service provider for Burning Man or Black Rock City.
- The use of our eBikes at Burning Man is done entirely at the customer’s risk and discretion.
On-Site Services and Deliveries
- No On-Site Deliveries: Playa eBikes® does not offer delivery to Black Rock City or the surrounding playa. Customers are fully responsible for transportation of their eBike to and from the event.
- No On-Site Services: We do not provide any on-site support, repair, maintenance, charging, or part replacement services at Burning Man. All maintenance and emergency planning must be handled independently by the customer.
Warranty & Deposit Policy for Burning Man Use
- Using an eBike at Burning Man is considered extreme use and voids all manufacturer warranties.
- Damage, corrosion, electrical faults, or structural failure caused by dust, heat, sand, overloading, collisions, or improper maintenance may result in partial or full forfeiture of your security deposit.
- No replacements, refunds, or discounts will be issued for damage incurred during or after Burning Man use.
Customer Responsibility
- Transport and Use: The customer is solely responsible for transport, usage, and storage of the eBike at the event. Playa eBikes® assumes no responsibility for loss, damage, or malfunction once the bike is picked up or delivered to the customer.
- Pre-Event Preparation: Customers must complete all eBike inspection, cleaning, tire inflation, charging, accessory installation, and maintenance prior to departing for the event. No post-event refunds or adjustments will be made for issues arising from insufficient preparation.
Liability Waiver
By using an eBike at Burning Man, the customer accepts full responsibility for all operational risks, including injury, accident, loss, or malfunction. Playa eBikes® is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damage to persons or property related to the use of its equipment at the event.

Compliance
- This policy is reviewed and updated periodically to reflect changes in business operations, risks, or external guidelines related to Burning Man or similar events.
Renter Acknowledgment
By signing below, I confirm that I understand and accept the following:
- Playa eBikes® is not affiliated with Burning Man in any capacity.
- I am solely responsible for the transportation, maintenance, and use of my eBike at the event.
- No on-site delivery, support, or repairs will be provided during the event.
- All warranties are void for bikes used at Burning Man.
- My deposit may be partially or fully forfeited for damage due to sand, dust, overuse, or neglect.
- I release Playa eBikes® from all liability related to the use of the eBike at or around the event.
